Re: boat will not plane under load look at timing advance...there is a little roller in a slot (kinda like a cam follower)..that roller is steel with some kind of hard covering. that covering breaks and falls off and then all you have is the small steel bearing...that wont cut it on timing advance...most of the time you can find pieces of the. Once you are getting on to plane you adjust them up so they do not create a drag once you are going faster. you can also ajust the side level of the boat, once under way by adjusting the seperate sides. you can get trim tabs that adjust themselves using water pressure only and they work pretty well but there is not much boat side adjustment to. Hello:i have a 1998 2330 ss with a 350 mag engine.i just had it summerise and i take it out on its first trip. the engine wont do over 2500 rpm and barely gets on plane.after a minute or 2 the boat takes off and acts normally. i shut the engine off and try again, this time the same 2500 rpm but i....
